At Step Places we have developed our own modular construction homes brand, Urban House. Born from our passion to utilise the latest technology and innovations, and our desire to help our customers live more sustainable lives, Urban House can be found at Waterside Gardens, Wigan Pier.
Off-site, modular construction is a fast growing alternative to traditional building practices, with 60-70% of all new home predicted to manufactured off-site by 2030. By taking the process off-site and into a factory, every component of your new home is built to precise standards and monitored at every step in the process, producing much less waste. Building homes in this way relies on less vehicles visiting the site which cuts down emissions, noise and environmental disturbance.
Each Urban House always uses the latest renewable energy sources:
• Heating and hot water are provided by air source heat pumps which reduce energy consumption and bills
• A Heat Recovery Ventilation (MVHR) system provides clean, filtered fresh air throughout the houses, reducing energy waste and costs
• The high performance insulation levels and window system reduces heat loss and provides excellent acoustic insulation
• Each home is ready wired for superfast fibre broadband
