At Step Places, we aim to create welcoming and diverse communities with the considered design of our homes, green spaces, work places and communal amenities all helping to generate social value.

We do not do big chains. We are proud to champion independent traders and artisan businesses to bring a sense of community, vibrancy, and character to a place. We do cultural and music spaces, markets and incubator offices, working with small businesses, start-ups and traders.

Completed in 2008, our Chorlton Villas development in South Manchester incorporates allotment spaces for residents, which proved to be very popular with our home owners and helped set the scheme apart from other new build developments nearby.

Our current Urban House scheme at Waterside Gardens, Wigan Pier, includes allocated allotment plots for every resident. The revitalised Wigan Pier will see the creation of brand new community facilities such as events space, office space, retail space, and a gin distillery and microbrewery.

Our plans for Springfield Gardens at Alder Hey, Liverpool will include a wide range of community facilities, including a new nursery, a gym, food and drink spaces, accommodation for young people living with autism, and step-down care facilities for children and families of those being treated at the hospital.
